Re: Where's the

The main driving force for choosing this site is Open-text's insistence on being in the downtown core.  It is their mandate.

Re: Where's the

I certainly think downtown is a great choice....however it is too bad we don't have a site that is free and clear so to speak....as opposed to the mess that is

Re: Where's the

Yup, he's trying to use the courts again. It's going to cost him this time. Whatever extra money's or materials he may have got from the site will now be clearly spelled out. He has two legs but none to stand on. His tone has changed but he's still an idiot.

Re: Where's the

Didn't he say about 6 months ago when he was "negotiating" a price, that he had some 150 truck loads of "stuff" he wanted the city to move to his property elsewhere?  What has been keeping him from moving his treasures himself?  Has this final day come as a recent surprise??  The removal of stored "crap" comes off the price of the vacant land---remove it yourself--less clean up cost--ultimate value increases.   Dah....

Re: Where's the

At one point he said he wanted the city to tear down the building and ship all the bits to his farm.

Hey...not a bad I idea...the city would avoid tipping fees at the dump wink

Re: Where's the

"This year, the property was assessed at $323,000 by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation and in 2008, $10,315.55 in municipal taxes were paid."

Interesting that when it comes to tax time Mr Ryan has no problem that his property is assessed at $323k.  Now at $21M he is looking for 65 times the assessed value. 20 times the purchase price.  Tommy Vu would be proud.

Re: Where's the

So now that it looks like the court case on expropriation has been put off until January---is Larry taking this valuable time to remove the 148 truckloads of good and valuable material to his own property elsewhere??  Or will he emerge from his burrow in January and say "but the City has never said how much they will contribute to my removal costs"?  The saga drags on!

Re: Where's the

Given the importance of this initiative, the city should be more transparent with what is going on.  The public does not have a clear picture, other than it's being held up in the courts waiting for a hearing date.....

Re: Where's the

I agree to a certain point Green.....the court process is public and open so if we really wanted to know whats what...it is available. I think the city, rightly so, is staying quiet as larry is the opposite...constantly shooting his mouth off ..something that will and has got him in trouble with the court process.
