Perth-Wellington Results

Wow, what a close one!  Did anyone forsee such a close race here?  Where do you think the shift has come from locally?  Is this a case of the anti-wind folks rallying votes?  Bad debate for John?  Backlash from the telemarketing?

Re: Perth-Wellington Results

John Wilkinson loses by 600 votes while 3500 fewer votes are cast in riding (compared to 2007 election).  I wonder if any of those 3500 will be kicking themselves tomorrow for not having voted this time around.

Re: Perth-Wellington Results

Well, as John has said "That's democracy".

Perhaps in a campaign pretty well devoid of "issues" - from a local point of view excepting perhaps wind power--maybe many just slept though the vote.

To the detriment of the riding, who are now not represented by the party in control.  Ah, you say---perhaps there may be other parties in control??  No--unfortunately with no true majority--more time will be spent just trying to appease the opposition--and less actually moving forward.

Too bad!!

Perhaps that many people hate McGuinty that it was a desperate attempt to get rid of him. Unfortunately Toronto and Ottawa had the majority of the votes.

Re: Perth-Wellington Results

I will not shed a tear to see Wilkinson go. He was a "yes man". He willing did Dalton's bidding and continuously lied while doing it. Everything from E-health, the raises for the Civi's when it was supposed to be a freeze, to eco-taxes, to the HST...the smart meters that only were smart about one thing and that was to pick our pockets...to the whole green energy debacle.... the list goes on.

No Johnny not at all sorry to see you go....please don't let the door hit you on the way out.
