Wal-Mart vs Sears

A good friend works at Sears. She is on the floor as a sales person first in apparel and now foot wear.

She applied to Wal-Mart for a job as a greeter. She accepted the position as Wal-Mart pays more and has better benefits than Sears.

So much for the nonsense that Wal-Mart pays less and has no benefits

Re: Wal-Mart vs Sears

We talked to our friend last night who had applied and was accepted to a position at Walmart. She did her orientation a few days ago and filled us in on a few things.

- the entire store will be blanketed in WiFi (free of course) and is the first in Canada to do so
- if when you are shopping you see an item on the shelf and want to buy it...however it is not stocked in your size, the colour you want, etc etc....go can go to the product online in store, order it and it will be delivered to your home within 3 business days. 90,000 products are covered by this.
- there will be no food services in this store, ie: no McDonalds, Tim's and of course Star Bucks is in Target.
- It will be a super store with all the usual superstore departments
- for the first year it will be open 7-11 daily and then will go to 24 hours (like Sobeys)
- the store will be open and operating no later than Black Friday (Nov29)
- Target will open before the end of this month
